What's the ROI of an AI agent?

Hours + € saved + payback · conservative by design

Calculate an AI agent's ROI — enter your task volume, time per task, and the share the agent handles to see hours saved, money saved, and payback period.

Conservative by design: only the share of tasks the agent actually handles counts toward savings. Verify against your real volumes before committing.

How to use it.

1. Enter your task volume

How many times the agent's task runs per month, and how long one takes a person today. Be realistic — current-state numbers, not best-case.

2. Set the deflection rate

Agents rarely handle 100%. Enter the share the agent realistically takes end-to-end; the rest still needs a human. Only the handled share counts toward savings.

3. Add your loaded hourly cost

The fully-loaded cost of the person doing the work today. The tool converts saved time into euros at this rate.

4. Read savings and payback

You get monthly and yearly savings plus payback on the build cost. If payback is under a year, the agent is usually worth a serious look.

Frequently asked questions.

How do you calculate AI agent ROI?
ROI = the value of time (or errors) the agent saves, minus its build and running cost. This tool focuses on time saved: tasks handled × minutes saved × your hourly cost, then payback against the build cost.
Why does the deflection rate matter so much?
Because savings scale directly with the share the agent actually handles. An agent that handles 70% of tasks saves far more than one that handles 30% — and overestimating this is the most common way ROI projections go wrong.
What's a good payback period for an AI agent?
Under 12 months is strong for mid-market teams; under 6 is excellent. Beyond ~18 months, the assumptions usually carry too much uncertainty to commit without a pilot.
